Have you heard about the latest hair trend: Temporary Hair Color?! Yes, you read that right! Gone are the days of dying your hair a color you and being unsure of the results or cutting your hair to get rid of it. You can experiment with just about any color you want without the harmful effects of damaging your hair! So, how does this temporary fix work you ask? Well, temporary hair color does not penetrate the cortex or the hair. Instead, it coats the outside of the hair shaft with color that washes out in a few shampoos. The ability to wash it out without a lot of hassle is one of its key benefits. Although there is no chemical reaction, if the hair is damaged and porous, the color can penetrate and stain the hair. The best way to combat this minor detail is to show your natural mane some tender loving care. Temporary color is great for last-minute touch-ups before a big event or to “make do” between appointments with your stylist.
L’Oréal is one of the many brands that has a line of Liquid chalk. However, you can find several options at your local Sally’s, Target or beauty supply store. It’s summer time ladies, the perfect time to play up your look and try out some color. Take pictures and tag us on Facebook with your colorful tresses!

With the kickoff of summer comes the kickoff of the natural hair craze for some individuals. And if you are letting your hair free in its natural state during the summer heat, then you must have coconut oil or some type of natural oil on your bathroom counter. But did you know that coconut oil can serve more purpose besides moisturizing hair or cooking?
Organic coconut oil can be bought from almost anywhere with the prices ranging from $8 to $15.
In this article I will give you five ways to get the most use out of your jar of coconut oil and save some money in your pocket.
- Body oil
As a solid, you can use coconut oil as a replacement for your lotion.
- Lip balm
Once you scoop some coconut oil into a small container, you can apply coconut oil onto your lips the same way you would apply Vaseline or petroleum jelly.
- Eye cream
Instead of spending a bunch of money on expensive eye cream, you can substitute it for coconut oil.
- Makeup remover
Applying liquefied* coconut oil on cotton pads and allowing it to soak overnight in a container will make great makeup removal wipes.
- Shaving cream
You can use liquefied coconut oil as a substitution for shaving cream and not only will you get a close shave, but you will also have moisturized legs because of the oil.
*Generally when buying organic coconut oil it comes as a creamy solid that can turn into a liquid once heated to 76°F.

We’re almost halfway through the year and if your motivation to complete all your 2015 goals is getting slimmer by the minute then do yourself a favor and pick up Diane von Furstenburg latest memoir The Woman I Wanted To Be.
“Use your brains, your common sense, and do not become an object. The way you look is important, but who you are and how you project it is eventually who you will become and how you will appear.”
-Diane von Furstentburg, The Woman I Wanted To Be.
The Woman I Wanted To Be by Diane Von Furstenberg is a must read for women of all ages, but it offers something special specifically for the twenty and thirty something year old women. Diane’s life is one big pot of inspiration, courage and guts!!! In this riveting and honest account of her life she takes us on a journey about love for yourself, love for others, family life, work life and all the battles in between. It definitely relit a fire in me to go after my dreams and to be as fearless and daring as I was in high school. The wisdom and grace oozing out of this woman is admirable and contagious! I felt myself desiring to be more like her just by reading her words and looking at her life! She’s lived a lot and has seen a lot and is completely honest and transparent with her story and choices, which is rare in today’s world. The reader gets to see how the woman we become starts from childhood and evolves through every season of our lives. It was hopeful seeing the evolution of Diane and encouraged me to keep doing my best because hard work truly does pay off, even if it takes time. Bottom line? GET THE BOOK. You won’t be disappointed and you will be burning with a new desire to finish 2015 strong!I give this book 5 coffee beans out of 5 coffee beans.
With love and big smiles,

Despite popular belief, protein is not just meat. When you see the word “protein’ the first thing most people think about is meat, eggs, or nuts. While it is true that meat, eggs, and nuts are a part of the protein list, where else can you get your protein from? While the list is extensive, for the sake of this article, I will advertise a few.
Green Peas:
These treats are low in fat but high in everything else. It has lots of protein, fiber, and micronutrients.
Kale:
Kale is a vegetable that has become very popular as of late, yet it has always had beautiful benefits: it is high in iron and vitamin K.
Beans:
An ounce of broiled steak or one-half cup of beans? Hmm…decisions. Not only is a better, smaller option, but it is full of fiber.
Peanut Butter:
You can eat good fat that is loaded with nutrients, and it can help you lose weight. It’s a dieter’s best friend.
White-Meat Poultry:
White-meat is an excellent choice for getting lean protein because once you remove the skin, which is nothing but a lot of saturated fat, it is better than other meat choices, such as dark-meat.
Seafood:
Besides the fact that almost everyone loves a bit of fish from time to time, seafood is generally heart-healthy and low in fat.
Milk, Cheese, and Yogurt:
Dairy products, such as milk, cheese, and yogurt, are not just good sources of protein, but it also contains sources of calcium and vitamin D.
